tours and sales possibilities

SALE OF STUDENT POTTERY

Current BMCA clay studio students received an email this week about the possibility of having student pottery sales during the Art in Bloom event.  If you're interested in helping make this opportunity happen, contact Rita ASAP.  Our students will need to put this together quickly, and it takes intense work, but the result is worth it to experience the retail side of the craft.

Rita aslo sent out information about several tours for our students to participate in...free of charge.

At the end of the street turn left onto Louisa St. Byers Pottery is on the right at 110 Louisa St. (828)768-3741, http://byerspottery.com/
Monday, June 20: Marjorie Pittman Pottery. Marjorie has been a potter for 40+ years. Her work has been at Appalachian Craft, Seven Sisters, Giftcrafts, and more.

Meet at the Clay Studio at 10 am. Carpooling is a good idea for parking purposes.

Directions from the Clay Studio: Go west on Hwy 70, past the Monte Vista, CVS, etc. At the stoplight at Blue Ridge Road (where Health Ridge Pharmacy is on the right), turn left onto Blue Ridge Road. Go under the I-40 overpass. About a half mile on the right, after Blue Ridge Assembly Dr., turn right onto Laurel Lane. About a quarter mile or so, turn left onto Forest Lane. Marjorie’s is the first house on the right – 3 Forest Lane. (If you miss Forest Lane, Laurel Lane dead ends shortly, so you will need to turn around and go back and turn right.)
If you have questions or get lost, please call the Center at 828/669-0930
We hope for a good turn out for these folks who are graciously inviting us into their studios.  A sign up sheet will be available in the studio under our "current happenings" bulletin board.
