Pat's glazing

When you start with a dozen basic glazes, then try one over another, that's over a hundred possibilities.  Pat shows by apron that she really gets into her clay work!

Marbleized clay

Pat proudly shows her two latest marbleized pots.

 A wheel-thrown vase with 3 colors of clay that are blended together then glazed with a matt clear glaze.  A real winner!

Pat finished her pitcher...the one we've recorded here from the beginning!  It sure is gorgeous!

Pat's pitcher, next stage...

OK, if you've looked at our students' work before, or know much of anything about pottery, you'll recognize that this is a bisqued pot.  It's waiting for a coat of glaze, then a higher temperature firing and then it will be finished.  In case you look at the last post, you might notice that it's shrunk a bit already. By the time it's finished, it will be about 15% smaller than the original size.

Libational, Pat Levi

Pat Levi works in precise techniques, and explores new areas like the scientist she is.  Her work this year has been full of variety, from functional wares to tall vases with intricate glaze and textures.  She volunteers as a Studio Assistant once a week during Open Studio hours.  She gives ready assistance to newer students.
